Visiting Us

Our workshop is situated in the heart of Lochaber, Outdoor Capital of Britain, almost midway between Glencoe and Ben Nevis in the Scottish Highlands.

We are open through the week Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, and Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Other times we can arrange to meet customers by appointment. Please try to give us a few days warning! It’s a good idea to phone us in any event if you are coming a distance, as some of us may be away with the demo instruments even if the workshop is open!

The workshop has a dedicated Music Room with all our instrument models in it. Customers can try out these instruments in privacy and with no pressure of time.

Most visitors will be coming from a southerly direction, and will therefore come up the A82 from Glasgow or Stirling – we are about 100 miles north of Glasgow and 75 miles north of Stirling. For the odd visitor coming from the north, we are about 85 miles south of Inverness.

About 4 miles north of Glencoe, you will find the Ballachulish Bridge – cross it going north but turn right immediately after it to go down Old Ferry Rd, so-called because it was the road approaching the old ferry slip – the ferry crossed Loch Leven below our workshop for many years before there was a bridge. Go down Old Ferry Rd for about 400metres and stop before the Loch Leven Hotel, at the end. Turn left into the small industrial estate and you will see our workshop at the back of the car park, behind the 'Treasure' craft shop.

Our immediate area is one of the best tourist destinations in Britain, with the twin attractions of Ben Nevis and Glencoe within 15 miles. Glencoe, best known for its infamous massacre, is one of the finest mountain areas in the whole of Scotland, and, of course, Ben Nevis, just east of Fort William, 12 miles to the north of our workshop, is the highest mountain in Britain.
